simply better ways to negotiate and resolve conflict

Upcoming workshops and events for ADR professionals

I’ve got several upcoming speaking and training events that are open to the public and good fits for dispute resolution professionals wanting to boost skill and strengthen practice. Here’s the rundown:

Uplevel Your Mediation Business: How to Offer Compelling Value to Your Market, Online and Off
April 9, Ananda Building, Salem, NH

I’ve got two seats left for my one-day mediation marketing workshop an hour from Boston. We’ll be covering how to know what the marketplace really wants from someone with your skills, how to stand out in the crowd authentically and without arrogance, how to get the ball rolling with word-of-mouth marketing, and how to leverage social media and the web to attract prospective clients. Find out more about the mediation marketing workshop here.

Find Your Conflict Zen: Simple, Powerful Conflict Resolution Habits for Work and Home
May 13-14, The Lodge at Pony Farm, Temple, NH

I just opened registration for my new 2-day workshop in a peaceful, retreat-like setting. We’ll be discussing how to keep your balance in times of tension and feel good about the way you handled a difficult conversation, how to untangle and simplify seemingly complex problems, how to negotiate powerfully for yourself or others without damaging important relationships, how to get less “hooked” or bowled over by conflict, and how to develop new habits that change the way you react during the most difficult conversations. Mediators wanting to deepen your conflict resolution skill are welcome and there’s a special earlybird registration rate available. Find out more about the conflict resolution workshop here.

Social Media as Dialogue: Building Rapport with Your Audience
May 20-21 at the Salt Lake Country Club in Salt Lake City

Utah Council on Conflict Resolution’s 2010 Symposium focuses on “Conflict Resolution Center Stage,” and many of workshops and presentations extend the theatrical theme. The speaker list includes many fine ADR colleagues, such as Lee Jay Berman, Jim Melamed, Jeffrey Krivis, and Sue Peahl. If you’re in that region, the event promises to be superb. Making Mediation Your Day Job Course
Online

I’ve just re-opened my self-paced online marketing course for mediators for a few more participants. Find out more and sign up here.

I love speaking to conflict resolution groups and associations, so I welcome your call if you’d like to find out ways to make that possible in your state or region.
