simply better ways to negotiate and resolve conflict

Success leaves clues: the mediator interview series

Success leaves clues. It’s a great phrase. Personal success giants like Tony Robbins and marketing authors like John Stanton have been using it for years.

And it seems a fitting name for a new series of interviews I’ve begun with mediators around the globe. Starting next week, I’ll share wisdom from mediators and other ADR professionals who are successful, respected, and know a thing or two about leveraging technology and the Internet to accomplish their work.

And I’ll add to this series periodically. You can find the most recent interviews anytime by clicking the “Success Leaves Clues” link under Topics in the site’s sidebar.

I’ll begin the series by asking five successful ADR professionals to consider the following questions:

  1. For mediators looking to build successful private practices, what do you think is most important for them to understand about the intersection of practice (managing, delivering services, marketing, etc.) and technology?
  2. What’s the most successful way you’ve leveraged technology to build your ADR-related work?
  3. What one tech gadget (iPod, cell phone, etc) do you find most essential to managing your day-to-day work and why?
  4. What are your favorite three online resources for learning new information you need to keep your ADR-related work healthy and forward moving and why are they your favorites?
  5. Tell me a funny or inspiring story involving your use of tech to build, manage or market your teaching, ADR practice or other related work.

Do you have a question you’d like me to include in my interviews? Leave me a comment and let me know.
