“I found that sometimes I knew what to say, but in the moment I was too frustrated, angry, heart broken, afraid or proud,” says Sharon Brennan, creator of a beautiful line of print and e-cards I stumbled across via Twitter.
When she started noticing that others felt that way too, There’s an ELEPHANT in the ROOM Cards™ was born. Created to help people move with grace through difficult moments in their relationships, the cards are designed to “blast holes in dark places and let the light in, and yes, to move elephants out of rooms.” Brennan’s tagline is, appropriately, “When you just can’t say the words out loud.”
There are cards for foot-in-mouth moments, for asking someone to change how they’re trying to help, for expressing confusion about where a relationship is headed, for requesting forgiveness and giving forgiveness…and so much more. Beautifully conceived, exquisitely balanced with both love and candor, and adeptly rendered, I can easily see how these cards can help open a conversation that’s begging to be had.
Sharon kindly sent me samples, which are nicely printed on sturdy stock with plenty of room for writing additional thoughts inside. The elephant featured on the front of the card looks wise and thoughtful, conveying just the right mood from the moment the card is removed from the envelope. There’s a tiny surprise tucked into each card, too…I’ll leave you to discover what it is on your own.
There’s an ELEPHANT in the ROOM Cards™ is worth a visit, a bookmark, and an order. Be sure, when you stop in, to read through the Stories page, too.
